General Notes:
At Queens College rugby became an official sport in 1824 and Arthur was selected for the first team. 1926 was the year of Arthur's ascendency and the team itched to try their mettle against the other Border Schools. That year they beat both Selborne College in East London and Dale College in King Williams Town and thus became the Border School Champions. Arthur had the distinction of representing the Senior Border Provincial side at both cricket and rugby whilst still at school as well as being the Head Prefect and the first team captain at cricket and rugby in 1925 and 1926. He was truly an outstanding athlete and scholar to achieve this amazing feat. He also was the recipient of the Nelson Shield, a prestigous Queens College award, in 1925.
