• Marital Status. In the notes from PMB/MHB/JTB there is a marriage recorded to unknown Woods. I believe this to be in error. She is clearly unmarried in the UK census of 1871. She is unmarried aged 63 living in Portsea.
The most likely reason is confusion with Jane Wood/Woods who married her nephew William Thomas Russell.
There is also a very clear notation in one of the Trees from PMB/MHB/JTB that she was unmarried.
There are also numerous records of her being married to David Mellor a stone dealer. These are also incorrect as she was born in Kent not Yorkshire. There is indeed a Jane Beaumont who married David Mellor. She died on 11 Jan 1871 which causes the confusion. Her will is recorded at https://www.ancestry.co.uk/interactive/1904/31874_222405-00209?pid=2713770&backurl=http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?indiv%3D1%26db%3DUKProbateCal%26h%3D2713770%26tid%3D41900308%26pid%3D20477729280%26usePUB%3Dtrue%26usePUBJs%3Dtrue%26rhSource%3D8914&treeid=41900308&personid=20477729280&hintid=&usePUB=true&usePUBJs=true
